Our commitment
Gather is committed to making the app usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, as our target standard for the app and this website, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time task.
What we do
We design and build Gather to support assistive technology and inclusive use, including: accessible names and roles for interactive controls so screen readers (such as VoiceOver) can describe them; support for the system text size (Dynamic Type) where possible; color choices and contrast intended to meet AA contrast ratios; touch targets sized for easier interaction; and motion that respects native, system-driven animation behavior.
Ongoing work & known limitations
Some areas are still being improved, including complete accessible labels on every icon-only control, full Dynamic Type scaling on dense screens, and a comprehensive screen-reader and contrast audit on a physical device prior to and after public launch. We track these as active work and welcome reports that help us prioritize.
Feedback
If you encounter an accessibility barrier in Gather, please tell us so we can fix it. Email support@gathercommunityapp.com with a description of the issue and the screen or feature involved, and we will work to provide the information, feature, or service you need in an accessible way.
